How to Kill Bed Bugs

Be skeptical of any used furniture. Curbside items and used mattresses and bedding should probably be avoided altogether. If you are acquiring used, secondhand, or rental items, examine them closely before bringing them into your home.

If you throw away infested furniture, do your community a favor and make sure it is clearly labeled “Bed bugs” or something similar, to save your neighbors from an infestation.  You may even want to destroy infested furniture to deter others from salvaging it.
