Sealing cracks
Depending on the harborage sites of the bed bugs in your infestation, you may want to consider sealing and cracks and holes that are within a 20-foot radius of the bed or other harborage. There are some common places to look for holes.
- Extra holes where pictures frames or other fixtures used to be
- Spaces between baseboards or moldings and the wall
- Between planks of wood floors
- Cracks in plaster
You can use caulk or putties available at hardware stores to accomplish this. Ask your PMP for advice on what materials to use and where you should be targeting your seals.
Be careful not to seal necessary holes, like electrical outlets and phone jacks.
